Indigenous Research & Data Sovereignty | January 2025

This event brought 113 participants from across Indian Country to explore tribal law, data sovereignty, and MMIP databases. Experts covered archival work, community-driven research, and leveraging AI and digital repositories to strengthen Indigenous data ownership. Discussions included Library of Congress resources, NAGPRA, and building data systems to address MMIP within tribal legal frameworks.


Digitizing Our Languages: A Workshop on Indigenous Language Preservation | December 2024

Led by Native language experts from Comanche, Osage, Ojibwe, and Shoshone Nations, this hands-on workshop explored recording, digitizing, and creating accessible language resources. Participants learned audio/video documentation, app-based learning, and digital storytelling to help preserve and revitalize Indigenous languages for future generations.
